“With 30 years of combined experience in tango—Apo with 20 years and Dilara with 10 years, alongside her extensive 30 years background in various dances such as ballet, contemporary dance, belly dance, and pole dance—we are dedicated to the art of Argentine tango. As the founders of Tangoperest, one of Istanbul’s most respected tango schools, we have trained hundreds of dancers, some of whom have gone on to win major competitions and establish their own studios.
In the past decade, we have traveled to Buenos Aires three times to immerse ourselves in tango at its birthplace, spending months exploring its depth and essence. During these stays, we performed at some of Buenos Aires’ most iconic and historic tango venues, including El Beso, Salón Marabú, and Club Gricel, as well as other renowned milongas such as La del Centro, La Rosa, La Cachila, Friulana, Turbia, and Tango Camargo.
In 2018, we placed 4th in both the Turkish Tango Cup and the Preliminar of Mundial in Istanbul (Escenario category). Beyond this success in Escenario, from those years onward we fully dedicated ourselves to the art of Pista, embracing its essence and depth.
Beyond being regularly invited to lead workshops and performances across Turkey, we have also been honored to teach and perform internationally throughout Europe and the United States, and in Russia, where we were invited not only as instructors but also as members of the jury in prestigious festivals.
Additionally, we have had the privilege of sharing the stage with some of Turkey’s leading tango orchestras in prestigious concert halls, further enriching our artistic journey.
Our teaching and dancing philosophy is rooted in the seamless fusion of tradition and modern exploration, with a strong emphasis on connection.”
